Here I provide an introduction to my Narrative Project Assignment about a time in my life when me or someone around me made a decision that had a positive or negative impact on my life. I also provide links to the relevant blog posts that served as part of my writing process.
For this assignment I decided to write about a time in my life when I decided to make a decision when I was way too tired to function. I decided to chose this topic after the blog post #5 Composing a Past Scene. As i wrote this scene I was able to share this with my class and get there feedback on how I could improve my scene and make it better. After getting their feedback I was able to write blog post #6 Composing a Past Scene: Part Two where I reflected my work and improved on it. I had other blogs where I created a scene like blog # 4 Composing a Present Scene With Dialogue and Symbolism and # 3 Composing a Present Scene but these works did not have a decision being made that impacted me so I was not able to use them.
Throughout writing my narrative project I did multiple blogs to help me build my writing. In blog # 7 Found Poem of My Narrative Project where I was able to take my narrative and turn it into a blackout poem so I could see if I have the main details and give enough detail in my narrative. in Blog # 9 narrative Project Rewrite: Exploring Counterfactuals I reflect on my narrative and see where I did more than expected and where I lacked.
There are many times in my life when me or someone around me has made choices that have impacted my life negatively or positively. I chose to pick one time in my life where being too tired and making a choice led me to making a big mistake. I chose this because I felt like it was far enough to be a past scene in my writing but not far enough for me to forget the details of the night.
I also provide a second draft where I was able to add an alternative ending using fan fictional writing. I turned my writing into third person point of view as well which changed my writing and allowed me to see my writing from a distant view.
